Human-being and lamenting woes

I did not get previous points because I was late for few minutes into the prayer room. The content of the lecture seems to be related to the perfection of prayer. Among the points delivered by cleric were:
  • A human love to cry a litany of woes when he is stricken with misfortune. Nowadays we can see people update their Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram to share their feelings with others. Among them is the cry of woes.
  • A human would become miserly scrooges when he is fortunate.
  • A human would keep his silence refusing to share his fortune but will parade around the town to share his misfortune to others.
  • The cleric relates this matter to surah al-Ma'arij (70:19) and mentioned that a person who strives to perfect his prayers would never display this attitude. A person who perform prayers perfectly always portray a right attitude and worldview
He further relates the word ma'arij with the ascension of prayers to the Throne of God and its relation to three traits of a servant of God as recounted by Ja'afar al-Sadiq. He stated that a person whose prayers ascend up to the Throne is a person who portrays these traits:
  • a person who holds a view that everything in his 'possession' is not his absolute belongings but belongs to God. He would not lament his misfortune. For e.g if he has no children or no son then he could care less but accepting the fact with an open mind.
  • a person who executes the commandments of God and respecting His prohibitions upon him.
  • a person who executes the commandments of God with manner and knowledge.
The cleric explains that the attitude of lamenting misfortune is an act of denial of the grace of God along with stinginess.

Earlier I heard that he mentions about prayers are not only the right of God upon his servants but also the right of faithful brethren upon their brother in faith. This is in relation to a phrase that we recite during the final tashahud, "السلام علينا وعلى عبادك الصالحين" which means, "peace be upon us and upon righteous servants of God". When we refuse to perform prayers then we are denying the rights of these brethren to receive our prayers and supplications.
